"MULTWOH (PATAY NA PATAY SA’YO)" Brings Its Star-Studded Queer Supernatural Comedy Nationwide!

“Multwoh (Patay na Patay Sa’yo)” is taking its queer supernatural comedy nationwide beginning October 21, bringing along one of the most eclectic Filipi no ensembles assembled for this year’s Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival.
Directed by Rodina Singh, the film follows Marcel, played by Sassa Gurl, a college student who returns as a ghost after dying before she can confess her feelings to her best friend Miguel, played by Joao Constancia. As Marcel attempts to settle her unfinished business, the film blends queer romance, comedy, grief, and supernatural chaos.
Beyond its leads, “Multwoh” brings together performers from film, television, social media, drag, and online comedy.
The cast includes John Lapus, Iyah Mina, Phi Palmos, Mae Paner, Buboy Villar, Migs Almendras, Lui Manansala, Eric Fructuoso, Tart Carlos, and KaladKaren, alongside Inah Evans and Christian Antolin.
The film also taps into a generation of digital creators whose comedy and online personas have built audiences of their own. Pipay, Gaia Poly, Yani Villarosa, Arman Salon, Chino Liu, AC Soriano, Sophie Prime, Abby Salle, and Stella Salle are all part of the lineup.
Beauty queen Dia Mate also appears, alongside Denzel Chang, Red Dilla, Casey Puo, Alfy Bara, Ice Neo, and Sesable. Drag performers Sofia Trazona, Pura Luka Vega, Shewarma, Russia Fox, Tiny Deluxe, and Matiduh further expand a cast that reflects just how many different corners of Filipino entertainment now intersect on the big screen.
For Singh, that variety fits the kind of queer story she wanted to tell.
“Queer stories don’t have to be tragic to be taken seriously. And they don’t have to be serious to matter,” she said.
While “Multwoh” deals with love, grief, and remembrance, Singh also wanted the film to celebrate the friendships, humor, absurdity, and joy that make up queer lives.
“What if, instead of remembering queer people only through how they died, we remembered them through how they lived?” Singh said. “Through the people they loved, the friendships they built, the ridiculous things they did, and the joy they brought into other people’s lives?”
The film’s approach earned four awards at the 2026 Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival: Panalo sa mga Manonood, Panalo sa Production Design, Panalo sa Brand Intrusion, and Puregold Always Panalo.
