Sinag Maynila 2026: Six Bold Filipino Stories Take Center Stage

Manila, Philippines - March 2026 - Sinag Maynila Independent Film Festival proudly returns on March 23-29, 2026, bringing together six compelling feature films that showcase the depth, diversity, and daring spirit of Filipino cinema.
Screenings will be held in selected cinemas across Metro Manila, culminating in the prestigious Gabi ng Parangal awards night on March 28 at Gateway Cineplex. This year's lineup reflects the festival's mission to amplify authentic Filipino voices and narratives that resonate both locally and globally.
FEATURE FILM ENTRIES:
• Pinikas | Halved - Dir. Cris Fuego A slice-of-life drama about a teen breadwinner in a fishing village, torn between local love and her father's dream of a foreigner's promise.
• Desperada - Dir. Luisito Lagdameo Ignacio A young woman, traumatized and rescued from the streets, finds healing and unexpected love in a shelter for the mentally ill.
• All About Her - Dir. Joel Lamangan A crime drama unraveling the mysterious death of a beauty queen, exposing ambition, manipulation, and psychological warfare.
• Sweet Escape - Dir. Rommel C. Ricafort A medical professional entangled in malpractice tragedy enters surrogacy in Bohol, finding redemption and love with a Korean entrepreneur.
• Ang Bangkay | The Embalmer - Dir. Vincent M. Tañada A psychological period piece about an embalmer widower whose coexistence with grieving relatives and corpses reveals greed, abuse, and hidden darkness.
• Lanaya- Dir. Clyde Capistrano A detective enlists a nursing student to spy on an old woman suspected of murder, exploring grief, power, and moral ambiguity.
